PUNKTITUDE Kriki

Robots and various objects around them share the canvas with a graffiti artist on a wind turbine. This assembly of elements, a priori disparate, the mix of things that are not established, this freedom in his compositions, that's the punkitude of the artist. It was in 1985 that Kriki invented the Fuzz, an imaginary character, half robot, half polymorphic fetish around which the artist invented a whole universe. Its name, the Fuzz, is a reference to the Cramps' album "Psychedelic jungle".

ARTIST

KRIKI (real name Christian Vallée) is a French artist born in Issy-les-Moulineaux in 1965. Currently lives and works in Paris. He still embodies punk culture in contemporary French art. From 1984 he participated in the emergence of what is now called Street Art, but he also belongs to this generational sensitivity of Figuration Libre which he will contribute to its revitalization.

At 18, he belonged to the punk movement and in 1983 founded an electro punk music group "Les Invahisseurs", of which he is the guitarist. Kriki advertises the group with painted posters, graffiti and stencils on the walls of Paris. It thus participates in the emergence of Street art, although it cannot be reduced to it.
