More informations
Mathias Bensimon presents his first solo exhibition at Galerie Loft with a set of immersive works highlighting the monumental project of the «Cosmic Garden» that will come to life in the form of a monumental fresco 21 meters long in the interior garden of the Ministry of Culture in Paris. Inspired by microbiology, this fresco is a bold fusion of art and science, capturing the intrigue and beauty of the quantum world.
Visual artist, performer and dancer, Mathias Bensimon seeks and explores new luminous experiences through gestures and alloys of unique colors in contemporary art. The artist researches new light experiences through gestures and alloys of unique colors in contemporary art. Light as a medium and substance, but also light as a revealing intelligence. Passionate about science, he has been working for a year and a half with the physicist Maxime Jacquet in a laboratory of the Sorbonne on the movement of light. The direct example is given to us with this fresco, the first direct artistic incursion of Mathias Bensimon in the scientific field.
“I thought of working on the notion of representation of the living, our way of seeing reality dependent on our mental representations. A microscopic garden form both inside and outside. I chose to work from the quantum theories influencing living cells.”
