“What interests me in the field and scope of painting is matter. Matter as substance, intelligence and revelation.
Matter enchants, reveals, invokes. The magic it reveals makes my inspiration and aspiration. In my work, most of what happens comes from listening.

By paying attention to the movement of life, to the movement that is the experience of feeling. It is born and arises from forms, colors. My intention is that by giving shape to these intuitions, creating an affective atmosphere, an ambient tone in a space, we can open our sensitivity to an understanding that is of the order of the formidable.”
Mathias Bensimon

A graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Paris, Mathias Bensimon is an artist who explores light and matter in his work, as a testimony to the different manifestations of reality. Questioning the visible and the invisible, the artist treats light as a medium and substance, but also as a revealing intelligence.

Mathias Bensimon tirelessly researches and explores new experiences of light through gestures and colour combinations that are unique in contemporary art. These imaginary portraits create a soothing, meditative atmosphere in which the colors are simply the material rendering of the painter's emotions and attentiveness to his environment.
