Series "The beginnings of Lone Sloane" 1963-64
"I had the chance to be a trouffion at the photo service in the armies ...At this period, the Lone Sloane was born. When I got back to my small room, I drew short stories, which I never finished, for lack of a character whom I dreamed strong and taking, strange, a little crazy in the good sense of the term. "

The Artist
From Lone Sloane to Xcalibur, from Pilot to Associated Humanoids, from drawing to 3D, from sheet of paper to film sets, Philippe Druillet (born in Toulouse in 1944) knew how to impose his universe and open a new path to the "9th art ”. His contribution to the revival of composition and the redefinition of cutting, from the first boards he produced in the late 1960s, deeply nourished and changed the world of comics, but also that of illustration, cinema and video games. He is a unique author who will guide Jean Giraud in the evolution of his alias Moebius and Georges Lucas in the graphic design of Star Wars. A pioneer artist, he is a staple of our visual universe. A true comic book genius and mythical figure in the universe of Science Fiction, he is still today an inexhaustible source of inspiration and a major influence for entire generations.
