More informations
During the 1960s, Bernard Quentin developed a particular interest in crowds, giving birth to a series of artworks. The artist explored the subject in two dimensions for about twenty years, using various mediums and formats. In 1994, he revisited the themes of Crowds and Homo by drawing on Canson paper with ink, and named the works the ‘Mutants series.’
Here, a human figure stands upright against a black background and appears to emanate from orange matter. Numerous words are written in white around Homo, such as ‘homo sapiens.’
