This winter, the Fondation CAB in Saint-Paul de Vence is proud to host a monumental work by artist Mathias Bensimon titled Infinitesimal.

At the intersection of art and science, Infinitesimal is an immersive piece that invites viewers to reflect on quantum physics and the very nature of perception. Inspired by physicist Jim Al-Khalili’s research on the role of quantum physics in living systems, the artist explores the connections between inanimate and animate matter, blurring the boundary between biology and quantum physics.

Since 2015, the artist has drawn inspiration from the work of astrophysicist David Elbaz and collaborated with physicist Maxime Jacquet at Sorbonne University, focusing on the movement of light. This partnership between art and science creates a dialogue between two worlds, where light is studied not only as a physical phenomenon but also as a symbol of perception and connection to the world.

Art and science are two ways of observing and establishing a direct, personal connection with the world.

Access to the mural and the foundation is by appointment: spv@fondationcab.com
