Discover the magic of Guillaume Piéchaud’s “Pissenlits H.6m”, a monumental sculpture that will bloom at the new Paris-Saclay hospital in Orsay !

Pissenlits, 2024, polished stainless steel and smoked glass, H.6m.

For the Groupe Hospitalier Nord Essonne’s new Paris-Saclay hospital in Orsay, Guillaume Piéchaud has created a series of exceptional six-metre-high dandelions in stainless steel and smoked glass. The Pissenlits are a familiar form for the sculptor-designer, this time monumentalized. Guillaume Piéchaud’s fascination with light is evident throughout his work, and is reflected in this piece, which lights up at night, playing on the transparency of the glass.

Located on a patio, between indoors and outdoors, Pissenlits symbolize rebirth, travel, youth and dreams. Guillaume Piéchaud adopts dreamlike forms drawn from a fantastical universe in which nature plays a fundamental role. His experience in jewellery workshops gives his work a jewel-like delicacy.

Set in a place dedicated to resources and care, these flowers, to which we associate lightness and innocence, find their place in this new hospital, which is coming to life and turning towards art. The work is part of a shared space between all floors and departments, adding a touch of imagination to this impersonal space, in keeping with what the sculptor calls “hospitals of the third millennium”.
